NASCAR stars have come a long way since the days of running moonshine in the hills of North Carolina.
Back in the old days, virtually every NASCAR racer was from the South, but now they come from -- and live -- all around the country.
Seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson is a native of Southern California and his wife Chandra hails from Oklahoma. And while the Johnsons keep a home with their two daughters in Charlotte, they also love New York and have always had a place there since they've been together.

Architectural Digest calls the Johnsons' Manhattan apartment "a chic, sun-filled aerie hard by the glittering Hudson River."
