Another missed extra point was one too many for the Minnesota Vikings.

A week after bringing in a half-dozen kickers for tryouts the Vikings on Tuesday waived embattled kicker Blair Walsh, less than two years after signing him to a four-year, $14 million contract extension.

Walsh missed another extra point in a loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday, his fourth such miss of the season.

Walsh is 12-for-16 on field goals this season and 15-for-19 on extra points.

Now in his fifth season, Walsh has appeared in 75 games for the Vikings since being selected in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, but has been in sharp decline since missing a game-winning field goal in a playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks last season.

Veteran kickers Zach Hocker, Travis Coons, Kai Forbath and Randy Bullock, as well as rookies Marshall Koehn and Aldrick Rosas, worked out for the Vikings last week.
