JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Jacksonville Jaguars rookie cornerback Jalen Ramsey says he's ''very, very close'' to being 100 percent following knee surgery.

Ramsey sat out the team's preseason opener last week at the New York Jets as a precaution and then missed three practices. He was back on the field Tuesday and full go during a joint practice with Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

The former Florida State standout and the fifth overall pick in the NFL draft had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee in May. Ramsey wanted to play against the Jets but has ''to be smart about it.''

''I just came off knee surgery,'' Ramsey said. ''I'm still, to this day, getting some rust off of me, getting into the swing of things, getting into the groove of things. It's about being smart. It's the preseason. I'm trying to be 100 percent by (Week 1 against the) Packers. I'm very, very close to that so there's no need - I just trust in the coaches and training staff on what they said about things.''
