RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) Quarterback Eli Manning won't play in the New York Giants' preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins.

Coach Ben McAdoo announced the decision Friday morning, hours before the game at MetLife Stadium.

McAdoo, who is in his first season as the Giants coach after spending the last two as their offensive coordinator, says he knows what Manning can do.
