PROVO, Utah (AP) Former Houston guard L.J. Rose has decided to transfer to BYU, coach Dave Rose said Tuesday. He will be eligible to play as a graduate-transfer senior during the upcoming season.
Rose averaged 5.7 points and 3.6 assists during stints at Baylor and Houston. He's played in 82 games and started 44. The 6-foot-3 Houston native played just two games last season due to a foot injury.
Dave Rose expects the transfer to add experienced depth to the backcourt.
The Cougars went 26-11 last season and advanced to the NIT semifinal, losing to Valparaiso 72-70.
