Henrik Stenson's major championship drought is finally over.
The 40-year-old from Sweden captured his first major title on Sunday, winning the British Open with a total score of 20-under on 264 strokes, the lowest 72-hole total score ever shot in major championship history.
Stenson shot an eight-under-par 63 during Sunday's final round, finishing three shots ahead of second-place finisher Phil Mickelson.
Stenson and Mickelson exchanged birdies during Sunday's final round, making for one of the most thrilling two-man races ever seen in major championship.
