On Thursday at Wrigley Field, law enforcement officials and emergency responders will be conducting a simulated "active shooter incident."

The exercises will involve Chicago's fire department, police officers, the city's emergency office and the Chicago Cubs, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The drill will last from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. Officials have warned locals that simulated ammunition and flash bangs will go off during the exercises.

This is wise preparation by Chicago or a sad sign of the times, maybe both.
