Mother Nature was not in a good mood Thursday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway.
Lightning and rain meant that only eight drivers were able to set times in in the first of two rounds of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. set the fast speed of the session at 191.014 miles per hour, but with so few cars on track and so few laps turned, you can't draw any real conclusions from it.
The final Happy Hour round of practice is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET, but it remains dependent on the weather.
