The San Diego Padres announced Tuesday afternoon that they have placed Jon Jay on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 20, with a right forearm fracture. Jay hurt his forearm when he was hit by a fastball from the Washington Nationals' Gio Gonzalez. He was hitting .296 with 35 runs scored for the Padres this season.

The Padres also announced that they have recalled utility man Alex Dickerson from Triple-A El Paso, which will mark his second stint at the big league level this season.
