TAMPA BAY -- The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-signed forward Tye McGinn and defenseman Matt Taormina to one-year, two-way contracts, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced Tuesday.
McGinn, 25, skated in two games with the Lightning last season, recording one shot on goal. He made his Lightning debut on November 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes, skating in 8:58 time on ice. McGinn played in 72 games with the Syracuse Crunch, posting 20 goals and 44 points to go along with 53 penalty minutes. The Fergus, Ontario native ranked third on the Crunch for points and goals. McGinn's nine power-play tallies ranked tied for first on Syracuse.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward has played in 89 career NHL games over four seasons, recording nine goals and 17 points to go along with 44 penalty minutes. McGinn played his first two NHL seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers and set career highs for goals with four during the 2013-14 season. He made his NHL debut against the New Jersey Devils on January 22, 2013.
Taormina, 29, skated in three games with the Lightning last season, registering two shots on goal. The Warren, Michigan native also appeared in three Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Lightning in 2016, recording a plus-1 rating. He has appeared in 59 career NHL games, including 12 with the Lightning over three seasons, posting four goals and 12 points.
The 5-foot-10, 182-pound defenseman skated in 61 games with the Syracuse Crunch last season, recording 13 goals and 41 points to go along with 10 penalty minutes. Taormina ranked second among Crunch defensemen for points and led all defensemen for goals with 13. He has played in 369 career AHL games, recording 55 goals and 200 points.
