The blockbuster trade for Derrick Rose might be only the beginning of the New York Knicks' summer shopping spree, at least if team president Phil Jackson has his way.
Jackson reportedly told Rose that the Knicks will also pursue Kevin Durant, who is the most prized free agent on the market now that LeBron James has said he plans to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It remains to be seen whether the Knicks -- or any other team -- will be able to pry Durant away from the Oklahoma City Thunder, the franchise with which he has spent his entire nine-season NBA career. And if Durant does sign elsewhere, it's possible he'd choose a title-ready team like the Golden State Warriors over the Knicks, who have endured three consecutive losing seasons.
