The much-anticipated showdown between Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward finally is coming to fruition, with the fight scheduled to take place Nov. 19 in Las Vegas.

The battle of unbeatens will take place at T-Mobile Arena, Main Events CEO Kathy Duva told ESPN.com on Friday, as long as both fighters win their tune-up fights. Neither side has made the announcement, but both fighters' promoters made a formal request with the Nevada State Athletic Commission for the date and venue.

Kovalev (29-0-1, 26 KOs), the 33-year-old unified light heavyweight champion, will face Isaac Chilemba (24-3-2, 10 KOs) on July 11. Ward (29-0, 15 KOs), the 32-year-old former super middleweight champ, vacated the belt to move up to 175 pounds and won his first fight at that weight with a unanimous decision over Sullivan Barrera. His next fight has not yet been announced.
