ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Third baseman Kyle Kubitza and left-hander David Huff have been designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Angels in the latest shake-up of their injury-plagued roster.

The Angels announced several moves Monday before facing Minnesota.

The club also selected right-handed relievers Al Alburquerque and A.J. Achter to the major league roster and placed reliever Cory Rasmus on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain.

Huff struggled in two fill-in starts for the Angels, who have several starting pitchers with significant injuries. New signee Tim Lincecum is expected to make his Angels debut Saturday.

Kubitza is batting .253 with two homers and 19 RBIs at Triple-A Salt Lake. The Angels acquired him in January 2015, but he batted .194 in 19 games for Los Angeles last season.
