COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Joel Davis and Ryne Birk had two RBIs apiece, and Mark Ecker struck out the final four Minnesota batters to help Texas A&M beat the Gophers 8-2 on Sunday night and win the NCAA Tournament's College Station Regional.

Texas A&M (48-14) took the lead on a two-run triple by Davis in the second inning. A RBI groundout by Hunter Melton and a sacrifice fly by Austin Homan in the fourth made it 4-0.

Austin Athmann had an RBI's in the sixth and eighth innings to pull Minnesota within 5-2, but Ecker closed out the eighth before the Aggies scored three in the top of ninth. Ecker then struck out the side in the bottom for his eighth save.
