Former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum will look to get back on the hunt for the title when he faces Ben Rothwell at UFC 203 in Cleveland on September 10.
The new bout was announced during UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Werdum returns following a devastating knockout loss to Stipe Miocic in his last fight, which cost him the heavyweight title at UFC 198 in Brazil.
Now the veteran heavyweight will get back in action with his eyes set on a rematch with Miocic if he can get past Rothwell in September.
Rothwell had his four-fight win streak snapped in April after suffering a unanimous decision loss to former champion Junior dos Santos. Prior to that loss, Rothwell had put together an incredibly impressive streak of wins including a victory over former champion Josh Barnett.
The Wisconsin native will look to add another former champion to his resume when he faces Werdum in a very important fight in the heavyweight division.
UFC 203 goes down from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland with Miocic defending his belt for the first time against top contender Alistair Overeem in the main event.
