Bud Moore got a surprise today when he arrived at the Charlotte Convention Center to take part in the voting for the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2017.

In a 37-year career, Moore earned 63 NASCAR Premier Series victories, 43, poles and two championships.

Moore himself a NASCAR Hall of Fame member, was greeted at the pre-event luncheon with a cake to celebrate his 91st birthday. In addition to a great career in NASCAR, Moore served in World War II, winning a pair of Bronze Stars and five Purple Hearts.
