Kurt Busch led the first of Friday's two rounds of Sprint Cup Series practice at Kansas Speedway in advance of Saturday night's Go Bowling 400 (FS1, 7 p.m. ET).
Busch, driver of the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet, ran a fastest lap of 185.893 miles per hour around the 1.5-mile oval.
Furniture Row Racing driver Martin Truex Jr. was second fastest with a lap of 185.478 mph, followed by Carl Edwards, Austin Dillon and 2011 Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne.
The final round of practice is at 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1, with qualifying to follow at 6:45 p.m. ET on FS1.
