We have a 10-game daily fantasy baseball slate on Monday with every matchup starting at 7:05pm (EST) or later.
5 Things to Watch:
1. Here are the three highest over/unders, provided by OddsShark...
Games | O/U |
---|---|
TEX/TOR | 9 |
LAA/MIL | 9 |
MIN/HOU | 8 |
2. Johnny Cueto spent 7 1/2 seasons with the Reds and, on Monday, will start for the visiting team at Great American Ball Park. In his career, Cueto is 48-22 with a 2.91 ERA at the GABP. Also, in his last outing, Cueto struck out 11 Padres.
3. There are two Interleague series starting on Monday. The Angels lose the DH as they travel to Milwaukee and we get a potential World Series preview as the Nationals face the Royals in Kansas City.
4. For the BvP readers: Nolan Arenado is 12-23 (.522 AVG) with four home runs against James Shields.
5. Massive favorite Monday? Five of the ten games today have a team with a moneyline of at least -140: Blue Jays, Mets, Giants, Astros, and Cardinals. I'd start building my DFS offenses around those clubs.
Yesterday's recap:
A large portion of your DFS salary was needed to pay for D.J. Foster's must-start, Clayton Kershaw, but it was well worth the investment: 9 IP, 0 ER, and 14 Ks in the win. That's 55.45 fantasy points on DraftKings and 81 points on FanDuel.
Must-Start of the day: Michael Conforto, NYM
He has a .365 ISO against right-handed pitchers. In the past week, Conforto is batting .440 with two home runs.
Deal of the day: Jon Gray, COL
Do you feel like rolling the dice? Gray is your guy. In his first start of the season, Gray punched out ten dodgers. Ten! He gets the Padres tonight and Gray isn't pitching in Colorado.
Avoid of the day: Josh Harrison, PIT
He's 1-11 (.091) against Jason Hammel with five strikeouts.
Stack of the day: Toronto Blue Jays
Two games are pegged with a nine-run over/under, but the Blue Jays are the strongest favorite in those contests. Josh Donaldson is a staple. Add Joey Bats and Tulo to your DFS lineup, too.
Starting pitchers:
Johnny Cueto, SF - (See "5 Things")
Dallas Keuchel, HOU - He continues to dominate at home. In the past two seasons, Keuchel is 16-0 in 19 starts at Minute Maid Park.
Jon Gray, COL - "Deal of the day."
Catchers:
Buster Posey, SF - He has a career .327 AVG against southpaws.
Geovany Soto, LAA - He has a .214 ISO against righties this year.
Stephen Vogt, OAK - He has a .194 ISO against righties.
First basemen:
Brandon Belt, SF - He has a .273 ISO against lefties in 2016.
Edwin Encarnacion, TOR - Last year, he had a .294 ISO against righties.
Chris Carter, MIL - After his two-home run performance on Sunday, he has a .403 ISO against righties this season. I know it will be tough to pass on Edwin Encarnacion (same price on DraftKings), but you can save a couple hundred bucks on FanDuel.
Brandon Moss, STL - He has a .364 ISO against righties.
Second basemen:
Jose Altuve, HOU - He has a .325 ISO against RHPs this season.
Robinson Cano, SEA - He has a .390 ISO against righties in 2016.
Brian Dozier, MIN - He has a .273 ISO against southpaws this year.
Third basemen:
Nolan Arenado, COL - (See "5 Things")
Josh Donaldson, TOR - He should be the center of your Blue Jays stack.
Adrian Beltre, TEX - He has a .210 ISO against righties.
Shortstops:
Troy Tulowitzki, TOR - He finally broke out of his slump with a home run on Sunday. Tulo is a cheap bat to use in a Toronto stack.
Carlos Correa, HOU - He has a .187 ISO against righties.
Outfielders:
Jose Bautista, TOR - He has a .313 ISO against righties this season.
Mike Trout, LAA - He has a .281 ISO against righties this year.
Yoenis Cespedes, NYM - He has a .371 ISO against righties.
Michael Conforto, NYM - "Must-start of the day."
Colby Rasmus, HOU - He continues to crush righties. Rasmus has a .343 ISO and seven home runs against right-handed pitchers in 2016.
Miguel Sano, MIN - He has a .375 ISO against lefties.
Hunter Pence, SF - He has a .222 ISO against southpaws this season.
