According to reports from WDIV in Detroit, Johnson was stretching at Michigan's indoor track facility -- he is on the track team also -- when he was possibly struck by a forklift. Details of the incident and the severity of the injury remain unclear.
The university later released this statement, which included confirmation of an injury to Johnson:
And then Johnson offered this reassuring update:
Johnson has torn the ACL in his left knee twice during his career at Michigan, but returned to rush for 271 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games during the 2015 season. He also caught six passes, two for TDs.
