NEW ORLEANS (AP) The color analyst of New Orleans Saints radio broadcasts, Howard ''Hokie'' Gajan (GUY'-zhawn), has died. He was 56.
Diane Newman, operations manager and program director of WWL AM, the flagship station of the Saints radio network, says Gajan died Monday night. He was diagnosed with cancer last year.
Gajan was an all-state back at Baker High School and later a back at LSU. He went from being a 10th-round draft choice to a prominent runner with the Saints.

After his playing days, Gajan became a scout for the Saints for 13 years before joining the team's broadcasts in the 2000 season.
Gajan is survived by his wife, Judy, and four daughters.
