Final practice results for Duck Commander 500 from Texas

Martin Truex Jr. has himself a fast hot rod in the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota.

Truex led the final Happy Hour round of practice in advance of Saturday night's Duck Commander 500 (FOX, 7:30 p.m. ET) at Texas Motor Speedway.

During the final 80-minute session, Truex has a best lap of 192.390 miles per hour, tops in the 40-car field.

Considering he also led Thursday's lone practice round and earlier Friday afternoon he qualified third for the big race, Truex undoubtedly is one of the favorites to win under the lights at the fast 1.5-mile Texas track.

"Proud of the guys for bringing a good Bass Pro Shops Camry this weekend and we'll just see what happens," said Truex. "Feeling good about it."

Toyotas swept the top three spots in Happy Hour, with Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Carl Edwards second and Kyle Busch third. AJ Allmendinger's JTG Daugherty Chevrolet and the Team Penske Ford of Joey Logano completed the top five.

Edwards will start the race from the pole in his JGR Toyota. He'll be flanked by the Logano, with both drivers looking to win for the first time this year.

"My confidence level is pretty decent, but now it's really up there," Edwards said after winning the pole. "To have a fast race car is huge. … We're pretty fast here and just overall the JGR Toyotas, they've just been getting better and better. I wouldn't trade cars with anyone in the field."

"There's still a lot of low-hanging fruit that we can grab with this new rules package, so it's about staying on your game right now and being able to develop quicker than anybody," said Logano.

So far, the 2015 season has produced seven different pole winners, five different race-winning drivers and four different winning teams. Kevin Harvick leads the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points standings over Jimmie Johnson (-4), Kyle Busch (-5) and Edwards (-14).

Johnson leads all drivers with six race victories at TMS, while Edwards is second with three.
