PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) Yasmany Tomas got three hits and the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the San Diego Padres 9-8 on Thursday.

Tomas hit a tiebreaking double in the seventh inning. Jason Bourgeois added a two-run double.

Phil Gosselin drove in two runs with a triple and single as the Diamondbacks took a 5-0 lead against starter Colin Rea.
