NEW YORK (AP) - NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell earned just over $34 million for 2014, according to the league's tax filing released Tuesday.

That total is actually down a bit from 2013 ($35 million) and 2012, when Goodell collected $44.2 million, including $9 million in bonuses and deferred pension.

The payments for 2014 - a difficult season for the league and the commissioner that involved high-profile player misconduct cases and a revamping of the NFL conduct policy - included a $26.5 million bonus negotiated the previous year.

Goodell came under heavy criticism in 2014 for his decisions in the Ray Rice case, and other incidents involving Adrian Peterson and Kevin Hardy drew headlines. While the public and the players' union questioned his ability to handle his duties, the 32 team owners have shown nothing but solid support for Goodell, who just finished his 10th season as commissioner.

Indeed, the league's revenues and popularity continue to rise, and the owners obviously compensate Goodell handsomely. He became commissioner in 2006.

DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Pistons have acquired forward Tobias Harris from Orlando in a trade that sends guard Brandon Jennings and forward Ersan Ilyasova to the Magic.

The Pistons announced the deal Tuesday. The 23-year-old Harris gives Detroit another athletic young player, and he'll be under team control for a while. Harris signed a $64 million, four-year deal to stay with the Magic last summer, when he was a restricted free agent.

The Pistons, who are a half-game out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, gave up their starting power forward in Ilyasova. Jennings was Detroit's backup point guard, and the Pistons could afford to part with him after making a long-term commitment to starter Reggie Jackson.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles has unveiled its logo for the city's bid to win the 2024 Olympics, displaying it on a digital screen on the 30th floor of a downtown skyscraper shortly after sunset on Tuesday.

The logo is a figure of a soaring angel with outstretched arms and legs illuminated by the rays of the sun, which emanate from a point of light at the figure's heart in a palette of purple, red, orange and yellow, colors often seen in the city sky at sunrise and sunset. The city's slogan for the bid is ''Follow the Sun.''

Broadcast online, the ceremony was attended by Mayor Eric Garcetti, LA 2024 chairman Casey Wasserman, retired Olympic champion swimmer Janet Evans, who is LA 2024 vice chair and director of athlete relations, and USOC chief marketing officer Lisa Baird.

Three-time Olympian Thiago Pereira of Brazil, who lives and trains in Los Angeles in preparation for swimming in his home country's Olympics this summer, endorsed the city's bid.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) - Volleyball's world governing body said ''misunderstandings'' in Iran were to blame for female spectators being denied entry to a Beach Volleyball World Tour event.

Allowing women to attend the five-day competition at Kish Island had been a condition of world body FIVB for the Iranian volleyball federation to host the men's event.

Female fans are traditionally barred from attending male-only sports matches in Iran.

FIVB spokesman Richard Baker told The Associated Press ''there were some misunderstandings with regard to security'' during play Tuesday.

He said women could then watch games from a cafe overlooking the main court.

NEW YORK (AP) - World Team Tennis returns to New York this summer at the historic West Side Tennis Stadium in Queens.

Andy Roddick and Patrick McEnroe will join the New York Empire team to compete at the former site of the U.S. Open. Roddick will play and McEnroe will coach the team at six home matches during the season, which runs July 31-Aug. 13.

''To play on the legendary courts at Forest Hills and be involved with a team in a city that I love, New York, will make this even more special,'' said Roddick, who won the 2003 U.S. Open.

The New York Sportimes were based in Manhattan from 2009-13 before the team moved to San Diego.

The Empire roster will be set at the WTT player draft on March 25. The final will be Aug. 27 in New York.
