Dameyune Craig, Auburn's co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach, is considered a strong candidate to join LSU's staff, a source told FOX Sports Sunday.

The 41-year-old Craig, a former Auburn QB, is regarded as one of the nation's top recruiters, especially in the Atlanta area and in Alabama. Craig was pivotal in helping Auburn put together a touted signing class earlier this month, highlighted by three four-star wideouts. If Craig does leave for LSU, don't be surprised if Gus Malzahn pursues former Auburn player Kodi Burns, now the running back coach at Arizona State, the source added.

The departure of Craig would be just the latest of a big staff turnover at Auburn, which has seen defensive coordinator Will Muschamp exit for the head coaching job at South Carolina. He was replaced by LSU's Kevin Steele. Fellow defensive staffers Travaris Robinson and Lance Thompson also followed Muschamp, leaving Auburn. The Tigers also have a new offensive line coach in Herb Hand, who came from Penn State after J.B. Grimes left to go to Cincinnati.

Craig would replace Tony Ball, LSU's former receivers coach, who the school announced Friday would not be returning to Les Miles' staff.
