Andrew Ladd scored the winner in the shootout to lift the Winnipeg Jets to a 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night.

Blake Wheeler scored in regulation and again in the shootout for the Jets, who have won three of their last four. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 21 shots in his first start since Nov. 2 after missing 33 games with a knee injury.

Matt Hendricks had the tying short-handed goal in the third period for the Oilers, who have lost four of their last five games. Jordan Eberle scored in the second round of the shootout but Pavelec stopped Connor McDavid in the third round to end the game.

Edmonton goalie Laurent Brossoit had 32 saves in his second NHL start — and first since a 49 save-performance against San Jose last April.
