Denny Hamlin led the way in Friday's second -- and final -- practice for Saturday night's 2016 running of the Sprint Unlimited (live on FOX, 8 p.m. ET).

Driving the No. 11 FedEx Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, Hamlin turned a fast lap of 198.930 mph to top the speed charts in the Happy Hour practice for the season-opening exhibition race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Hamlin's time was considerably faster than that of Clint Bowyer, who posted the second-fastest lap of 195.253 mph.

Aric Almirola (194.885 mph), Brian Vickers (194.805 mph) and Kevin Harvick (194.763 mph) rounded out the top five.

It was an especially strong showing by Vickers, who was officially named as the substitute driver for the injured Tony Stewart earlier in the day. Vickers will drive the No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet throughout Daytona Speedweeks, including in the Daytona 500 set for Sunday, Feb. 21 (FOX, noon ET).
