Just a few months after Torri Hunter made his retirement official, the Minnesota Twins announced that the outfielder is headed to the team's Hall of Fame.

Hunter, who will be joined by longtime Twins broadcaster John Gordon in the 2016 class induction this summer, was thrilled with the news.

The 40-year-old Hunter called it a career after the 2015 season -- his 19th in the majors and his first back with the Twins since 2007. The five-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove Award winner is a career .277/.331/.461 hitter with 353 homers and 1,391 RBI during his 12 seasons with the Twins, his five seasons with the Los Angeles Angels and his two seasons with the Detroit Tigers.
