Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Kawann Short has truly come into his own in 2015. Not only has he put together 11 total sacks on the season, but after being named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for December, according to Bryan Strickland of Panthers.com, he's now made history.

Short being named Player of the Month makes for the first time a Panther has accomplished the feat twice in the same year. It's also the first time in history that a defensive tackle has been honored twice in the same year.

With December being the second time Short was honored, he also earned the nod back in October as well. As Strickland points out, the playmaker for Carolina totaled five sacks in the past month alone.

Congratulations are in order for Short, and it's well deserved as he's been a force for Carolina this season.
