Les Huntley, a front suspension mechanic for Stewart-Haas Racing, suffered a stroke on New Year's Day, and was left with paralysis on his left side.
The Renwick, Iowa native also worked this past season as a crew member, filling the role of second gas man on SHR driver Danica Patrick's No. 10 Chevrolet.
As of Monday afternoon, A "Go Fund Me" account created for Huntley on Saturday had already surpassed its goal of $10,000 by raising nearly $18,000 to offset his medical expenses.
Not surprisingly, support has poured in from around the NASCAR world, which includes Stewart-Haas Racing crew chief Rodney Childers, who is doing his part to help.
