New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will likely be shut down for the season.

Brees, who became the fourth quarterback in NFL history to throw for 60,000 yards on Monday night, underwent an MRI which showed a torn plantar fascia, ESPN's Ed Werder reports.

Brees will undergo a second opinion, according to Werder, but the injury should certainly linger in the offseason regardless.
