Jerry Jones says Dez Bryant's season has been disappointing

This season of Dallas Cowboy's football has been one to forget, especially for Dez Bryant.

On the year, Bryant only has 401 yards and three touchdowns in nine games. By the end of the year, barring any sort of monster game, Bryant will finish with his least-productive year as his career.

The Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, is disappointed in Bryant's output, especially after Bryant signed a five-year, $70 million contract earlier this year.

"There's no doubt it's been disappointing for Dez," Jones told 105.3 The Fan. "He's got very high expectations and a very high bar for what he needs to be doing to help win ballgames."

And while he hasn't done that, he certainly hasn't had much help this season. In order for Bryant to get the ball, he needs a quarterback to throw it his way. And when Tony Romo went down with an injury, Bryant's game reflected his loss.

Even though there were some instances where Bryant didn't seem to give it his best effort, there is no reason a player of Bryant's caliber should struggle as severely as he has. These next few weeks will be tough on Bryant, as he's essentially suiting up for meaningless games. But he can use these two games as a time to reflect and end his season on a positive note.
