Newly crowned NASCAR XFINITY Series champion Chris Buescher is reportedly headed for a full-time Sprint Cup Series ride in 2016.
Buescher, who won the 2015 title in NASCAR's No. 2 division for Roush Fenway Racing, wil compete full time for Front Row Motorsports in the organization's No. 34 Ford, according to Motorsport.com.
The 23-year-old native of Plano, Texas, made six Sprint Cup starts this past season for the Bob Jenkins-owned team in addition to running the full XFINITY schedule for Roush Fenway Racing, a fellow Ford team.
RFR co-owner Jack Roush said after last month's XFINITY Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway that next year's plans for Buescher were still up in the air.
"He will be involved in a Cup car to some extent, but whether it's a part-time program or a full program, we're still in the midst of finalizing the conditions," Roush said. "We've got a number of possibilities."
