Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson is already a hot commodity when it comes to recent collegiate head coaching vacancies, according to a report from Pro Football Talk.
Jackson was sought after by both USC and Miami, but owner Mike Brown wasn't about to let his offensive coordinator walk away in the midst of a 10-2 season. Jackson was OK with Brown's stance, according to the report. The schools hired Clay Helton and Mark Richt, respectively.
Jackson, who was a finalist for the Bills job last season, has been an assistant with the Bengals since 2012, when he was dismissed after one season as the Raiders head coach. Jackson has been the offensive coordinator the past two seasons and has Andy Dalton playing the best football of his career.
Last January, Brown also denied defensive backs coach Vance Joseph a chance at becoming the defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos. Jackson will likely garner interest from NFL teams this coming offseason, meaning the Bengals might need to find another offensive coordinator.
