Tight end Chase Coffman's stay with the Seattle Seahawks lasted only one week.

The Seahawks waived Coffman on Tuesday, apparent content to go forward with the tandem of Luke Willson and Cooper Helfet after Jimmy Graham was lost for the season due to a ruptured patellar tendon.

Coffman was signed two days after Graham suffered his injury but was inactive for Seattle's 38-7 romp over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Willson had two receptions for 36 yards and Helfet added one catch for 13 yards as the Seahawks posted their most lopsided win of the season.

The released of Coffman leaves Seattle with two openings on its 53-man roster. Cornerback Cary Williams, who started the first 10 games, cleared waivers and is a free agent after he was released by the team Monday.
