Oklahoma State was projected to be solid this season, but their undefeated start through 11 weeks of the season is certainly surprising. They haven't been this strong since the Justin Blackmon-Brandon Weeden days, and at first glance, this team doesn't seem to be as talented as that one was.

Mike Gundy deserves a lot of credit for his coaching job this season, but perhaps he deserves even more credit for how much he's evolved as a coach in the past few years. It's paved the way for success for these Cowboys.

How has he evolved? Well, for starters, he's having more fun.

"I'm having a lot of fun with these players," Gundy said. "Offensively, there's a lot of scheming and X's and O's going on and I enjoy that."

The players have noticed.

"You can just tell when (Gundy) comes in and gets involved with the offense, how happy or excited he is," wide receiver David Glidden said. "When we're in our position meetings, Coach (Kasey) Dunn is the one telling us about the play and he tells us where it came from. It's just funny hearing how things get passed down like that."

We'll see if that attitude carries the Cowboys to an undefeated record this season.
