It's been a busy season for No. 1 Clemson and Dabo Swinney, but the Tigers coach still found time to pay tribute to a legend and colleague.

A few weeks back Virginia Tech's Frank Beamer, the winningest active coach in college football, announced that he will retire at the end of the season, prompting Swinney to send a token of his appreciation.

The Clemson coach sent a football to Beamer that read, "Coach Beamer, nobody has ever done it better. Appreciate your example + friendship. Gold bless!"

Beamer's Hokies are 5-5 (3-3) and if they can find a way to win one of their last two games they will become bowl eligible for the 23rd straight year.
