Cowboys' Darren McFadden continues to shine in lead role

The Dallas Cowboys entered the 2015 regular season with hopes of achieving a successful running back by committee, but injuries have allowed running back Darren McFadden to prove that he can the featured back. He continued his stretch of strong performances in the Cowboys' Week 9 33-27 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

McFadden rushed for 117 yards on 27 carries, and he added five yards on one reception. For the first time all season, McFadden operated as an every down back -- backup Christine Michael didn't get one snap all game.

McFadden has touched the football 85 times over the past three games, since a Joseph Randle injury rendered him the lead back, and he has totaled 397 yards on the ground and in the air. McFadden has been one of the Cowboys' one bright spots in their six-game losing streak.
