Brandon Marshall is looking like a bargain for the Jets thus far. Brad Penner USA TODAY Sports

When the New York Jets sent a fifth-round pick to the Chicaco Bears for Brandon Marshall and a seventh rounder, many thought the Jets got a steal. If anyone is still doubting that they got a great value, they need to look at the numbers.

In his first season in New York, Marshall is currently in the midst of one of the best seasons by a receiver in Jets history. In seven games, he's caught 50 passes for 686 yards and four touchdowns -- all of which are top-15 in the league. He also leads the NFL with five 100-yard receiving games.

What's more incredible, though, is that his 686 yards is the most by a Jets receiver through seven games since 1970. Additionally, he's the first Jets player to have four consecutive games with 100 receiving yards since Don Maynard did it in 1968.

It's nearly impossible to say that Marshall wasn't a great addition for the Jets. He's been a huge part of the team's passing attack, and without him, there's no guarantee they'd be 4-3.
