Jim Caldwell's Lions were getting blown out on Sunday -- then this happened. Andrew Weber USA TODAY Sports

When the opposing team pulls the starting quarterback and puts in the backup late in a game it can only mean one thing: someone is getting blown out.

For the Lions, they've been the ones getting blown out this season. And against the Kansas City Chiefs in London, they saw backup quarterback Chase Daniel enter the game. It was the second time this has happened to them so far this season.

Daniel completed both of his pass attempts for four yards, as he helped the Chiefs close out their 45-10 win over the Lions.

The last time the Lions were losing so bad that the other team put in its backup quarterback was in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. Detroit lost that game 42-17, as Arizona's Drew Stanton threw four passes (one completion, 10 yards) in relief for Carson Palmer late in the blowout.
