The Chargers put forth a "pathetic" effort in the eyes of their now-embattled head coach. Orlando Ramirez USA TODAY Sports
Mike McCoy isn't swayed by the three garbage time touchdowns his team scored on Sunday.
The Chargers were down 37-6 after three quarters. Their head coach has only one word for the performance.
"It's pathetic," a downtrodden McCoy told reporters after the game.
That about sums it up. The Chargers faced what amounted to a must-win game and couldn't find the end zone until the rout was on.
All against a team San Diego had beaten -- and at times, crushed -- in 19 of their last 23 meetings. Yet on Sunday, McCoy's offense fell to shambles and looked like the 4-12 team that hired him to right the ship in 2012.
He might not be the coach to do it. The Chargers have lost eight of their last 11 and look poised to miss the playoffs for a second straight season.
