The Philadelphia Eagles entered Week 7 with one of the best run defenses in the NFL by the numbers-- led by nose tackle Bennie Logan -- but that last after the Carolina Panthers gashed them on the ground.

The Panthers racked up a combined 204 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 33 total team carries. Starting running back Jonathan Stewart led the way for the Panthers with 125 yards rushing on just 24 carries.

The Eagles' run defense was one of the team's biggest strengths, but they were dominated at the point of attack as the Panthers used power-blocking plays to create yards between the tackles.

The Eagles also did a poor job of tackling -- per Pro Football Focus, the team missed a combined eight tackles in Week 7. Rookie Jordan Hicks, who has been filling in as a starting inside linebacker, had his worst came of the season against the run.

The Eagles need to find some solutions to their new problem during their Week 8 bye. In the Eagles' three regular season wins, they have dominated on defense to make things easier for their struggling offense.
