With his pair of sacks in Houston's 31-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Texans outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus ended a sackless streak dating back to the end of last season.

The linebacker's two sacks of Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles were his first dating back Houston's season-ending game against Jacksonville last Dec. 28.

"Just being diligent and working hard and trying to make things happen," Mercilus said, per the Houston Chronicle. "That's how you've got to rush the passer in this league. You have to be relentless. It's never going to be off your first move. It's going to be your second or third move and just chasing quarterbacks down."

Mercilus lined up on the right side as an outside linebacker against Jacksonville in place of the injured Jadeveon Clowney.
