LEEDS, England (AP) Leeds says that coach Uwe Rosler has left the Championship club, following a third consecutive defeat for the relegation strugglers.

Leeds tweeted that ''Uwe Rosler has parted company with the club'' and that a full statement would be released later Monday.

Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Brighton has left Leeds in 18th place in the 24-team second tier of English football, just three points above the relegation zone.

Rosler was appointed in May on a two-year contract. The 46-year-old German coach had previously managed Wigan and Brentford.

A force in domestic and European football from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s, Leeds has struggled over the past decade and the team has yet to win at Elland Road this season.
