Sammy Watkins found his name in several headlines last week when he came out and said he wasn't being targeted enough. Well, on Sunday, he was targeted and caught his second touchdown of the season, but he injured himself in the process.
Watkins left the game just before halftime after suffering an ankle injury on his 22-yard touchdown catch. He was unable to return to the game and was spotted in the locker room on crutches with very limited mobility.
Watkins made the trip to London with the Buffalo Bills after the game, but he arrived in not-so-great shape. According to NFL.com, Sky Sports' live feed of the team's arrival showed Watkins in a walking boot and on crutches upon arrival.
His status for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is uncertain, but it doesn't look very promising as of now. What's likely most disappointing is that he was coming off the best half of football he's played this season, and was on pace for a strong outing. He was also targeted five times in the first half, tied for the season-high for him.
While Watkins did make the trip to London, defensive tackle Kyle Williams did not. Williams was carted off the field in the fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury, with the early diagnosis being a PCL injury. If it is a PCL, he'll likely miss three to four weeks.
The Bills have dealt with a number of significant injuries this season, with these two being the latest.
