Aaron Rodgers may be the NFL's best quarterback, but he's running out of receivers.

Packers rookie Ty Montgomery needed help leaving the field during Sunday's game against the Chargers after suffering what CBS reported was a left ankle injury on a second-quarter pass reception. He was ruled out just after halftime.

Green Bay already is playing without No. 1 receiver Jordy Nelson, who was lost to a preseason ACL injury, and No. 3 receiver Davante Adams, who has been out since Week 3 with a high ankle sprain. Montgomery, a third-round pick, had emerged with 13 receptions in his past four games before Sunday.

Rodgers' top two remaining targets are Randall Cobb and James Jones, who was picked up off waivers to replace Nelson just before the start of the season. Immediately after Montgomery's injury, Jeff Janis got his first catch of the season, a 46-yarder, and he will move into the No. 3 spot in Montgomery's absence.
