Saturday night's Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway has been postponed due to persistent rain.
With the forecast calling for precipitation to linger until around midnight, NASCAR pulled the proverbial plug just after 6:45 p.m. ET Saturday.
The race, No. 4 of 10 in the championship-determing Chase for the Sprint Cup, has been rescheduled for Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET. The gates open at 9 a.m.
Sunday's forecast is much better, with the afternoon forecast calling for sunny skies and a zero percent chance of precipitation.
Despite rain impacting multiple race weekends this season, this is just the second time in 2015 that a Sprint Cup race has been pushed back a day because of weather.
