WATCH: Raiders nearly pulled off their own 'Stanford Band' play

Oakland nearly became the third Bay Area team known for a shocking, lateral-filled ending.

The Raiders won't join Cal and Stanford in the pantheon of epic touchdown returns -- but you have to credit their effort in this backwards pass bonanza against the Chicago Bears.

This could've been so fun -- it took the Bears around 30 seconds to finally chase down the Raiders and in turn, their first win.

But it wouldn't have counted anyway. The Silver and Black were flagged for an illegal forward pass early in the sequence that spoiled the whole play.
