The Toronto Blue Jays started Mark Buehrle Sunday with the idea that he would throw two innings on short rest, reach the 200 inning plateau and exit the game.

Things didn't work out as planned.

Buehrle only lasted 2/3 of an inning, giving up eight runs, though none of them were earned.

The Blue Jays lefty ended his season with 198 2/3 innings, snapping his 14-year streak of pitching at least 200 innings.

On top of all of that, according to multiple reports, Buerhle will retire at the completion of this season.

Though the Blue Jays' season will continue, it's not expected the Buehrle will make the postseason roster.

On the season, the durable southpaw is 15-7 record with a 3.82 ERA.
