Chicago Bears right tackle Kyle Long is not wearing a cast on his right hand against the Oakland Raiders in Week 4, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.
By the end of this past week of practice, Long knew his hand would be strong enough to go without a cast, according to Arthur Arkush of ChicagoFootball.com.
Long wore the cast in last week's loss against the Seattle Seahawks, as his gritty performances continue to be a highpoint for a winless Bears team. Adding to the trouble of punching and blocking through a hand injury, the third-year offensive lineman is playing tackle for the first time this season (he was a Pro Bowler at guard each of the past two seasons).
Long needs both hands healthy and ready to hit in Week 4, as he goes head-to-head with a fierce pass-rusher in Oakland's Khalil Mack.
