RUSTON, La. (AP) Jeff Driskel completed 20 of 33 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score to lead Louisiana Tech over Louisiana-Lafayette 43-14 on Saturday night.

Marcus Gaines led the Bulldogs receivers with eight catches for 165 yards, including and a 72-yard TD catch early in the third quarter that capped 36 straight points for Louisiana Tech (3-2). Trent Taylor added five catches for 78 yards and a score.

Louisiana Tech outscored the Ragin' Cajuns 22-0 during the second quarter. Bryson Abraham intercepted Jalen Nixon's pass and returned it 50 yards to make it 29-7 on the final play of the first half.

Louisiana-Lafayette (1-3) took the lead on the game's opening possession. Nixon capped the five-play, 80-yard opening drive with a 49-yard pass to Elijah McGuire. Nixon also ran in from 5 yards for Louisiana-Lafayette's other touchdown, closing the deficit to 36-14 late in the third quarter.
